Special Instructions:
Substation journeyman experience and training experience is preferred. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to, Electric Substation apprentice and journeyman training programs. Partner with other Technical Instructor to deliver apprentice or journeyman training that falls within area expertise.
This position will be filled as Technical Instructor III or Senior level based on the successful candidate’s qualifications. This position is for Technical Training at Materials Distribution Center in Henderson, CO. Some travel and overnight stay is required. Relocation is available for this position. Position Summary:
Provide training in technical fields, including topics for energy delivery. Utilize the ADDIE process (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation) to develop and maintain training materials per the Training Process Procedures (TPP). Design instruments and perform statistical analysis to quantitatively and qualitatively evaluate effectiveness. Position may require extended periods of time at the customer site.
Essential Responsibilities: Percent of Time
a) Implement ADDIE process to deliver training.55%
b) Provide support to training process unique to electrical training including customer contacts to represent all C&FO Safety and Technical Training services.15%
c) Perform safety and technical training process improvement consulting.5%
d) Meet continuing technical, professional and instructional requirements by adhering to a self-development plan.3%
e) Coordinate special events as identified and requested by C&FO management.2%
f) Fully utilize the Safety and Technical Training business processes (scorecard, marketing strategies, manufacturing-analysis, design, development, delivery and evaluation) project management, mapping, product pricing and improvement of all processes.5%
g) Consult with customer to identify business needs and objectives. Provide customer contact for all Xcel Energy C&FO Safety and Technical Training services, products and programs in alignment with other business unit functions.10%
h) Design effective instruments and perform statistical analysis to quantitatively and qualitatively evaluate overall effectiveness, cost benefit and ultimate bottom line impact of the training/consulting product or service provided.5%
Minimum Requirements:
Four or more years of practical experience as a Substation Journeyman or equivalent educational or work experience. Valid commercial vehicle driver’s license. Will be required to meet regulatory requirements and/or DOT screening processes. Communication skills. Strong presentation skills. Must understand and practice industry standard safety policies and regulations, and OSHA/EPA/DOT Procedures and practices. Basic operating skills of computer operating systems utilized within Xcel Energy.
